The rule of thirds is a compositional trick that helps are pictures look professional. It is a tic-tac-toe graph that will show up on your camera. You pick a subject a put it on one of the four corners of the middle square in the tic-tac-toe graph. I used it in in my picture with the tree. The tree is my subject and it lays on the vertical line of the right side of the tic-tac-toe graph.
